My 3rd Toastmaster Speech - Dream !!

Dream Dream Dream Dream transform in to thoughts... thoughts results in action - APJ Abdul Kalam Said.
Fellow Toastmasters and dear guest, Today I would like to talk about roadblocks that are on the path of converting thoughts to actions.
We all dream of becoming someone or achieving a particular goal. When I was a kid I wanted to be Sachin Tendulker like many of the kids. I used to watch all the cricket matches and with the  remaining time my parents would force me to sit in front of a book. I did nt go for practise to become Sachin, my dream stayed as dream forever.
This was mostly the case when I dream about something. There was a time when I never bothered about acheiving goal.I would imagine all my dream in my sleep. One point of time I wanted to do PHD and become an industrialist. I have spent good amount of money and time for travelling and searching a suitable business. I was so conscious of showing people that I was doing the right thing and sometimes I even wanted to copy some successful people's path without assessing whether that would fit my requirements. When I first met my wife I had mainly looked at her and assessed if  she was really worthy enough to sit next to me when I give an interview to CNBC one day, after I become an industrialist. I used to see myself as a celebrity after achieving something.
Dreams are not what you see in sleep. They are the things that do not let you sleep. I realize what it really means now.
After a certain age most of us know the importance of attaching our actions towards our dream. We are matured enough to identify what we should do to acheive our dream. only thing we should have is the energy and enthusiasm to think. but This is the time we will face variety of obstacles playing against doing something towards achieving our dream.
- We are always engaged in our job or life. 9 to 10 hours of work is stressful enough not revisit our dream, let alone achieve it.
- Some times we do not dare to express that this is what we want to do. We have a thinking that there is always a right way of doing it, so we spend 1 or 2years of our life approaching it the right way and before we know it, we are out there chasing another dream just because the earlier one took time and we lost interest.
- We sacrifise to follow our dreams for the family.
- No Time and finacial block could also be a reason for us to not follow our dream.

These are the main reasons I could see as to why we donot follow our dream in my case or in my circle.
Whenever I decide to do something; without even asking anyone's consent, it may be something as simple as joining the kallaripayathu class for my fitness; , I realize I end up being a happy person after I have attended the class. May be its because of the fact that I get to lead life on my own terms; again which would not have been possible without a supportive wife. Hope someone can convey this to my wife. This activity helped me get up early in the morning and I have learned to become a more energetic person at work and personal life. I have started doing more activities in a day.
Someone said - Dream as if you will live forever, live as if you'll die today.
My father has started his career as sales boy in a small pharmacy, he wanted to start his own pharmacy and he did it in 5 years time. Not just a pharmacy, he has started a whole dealership for medicine in my place. Then his business didnt go well when I born. He had to sell off everything he had. He was telling now that was the time my father and mother was scared of thinking about their children future and my father always used to think how can he see his children wearing nice T-shirts like others in my family circle. Then he did a lot of other things, didn’t work. Finally he didn’t have any people to owe him money for any start up. That is the time he got to know about LIC Agents. The total capital required for those days to become an LIC agent was 25 INR. He becomes an LIC agent. Then it was his success, he had only one dream, he need to pay back his debt and lead a good life. Now he is one of the best LIC agents in south India. Even still, whenever he shops for me or my brother. He pick up T- Shirt with 90’s style J
Even, By doing something for myself I have realised that we will learn a lot and build confidence. Think about Dhirubhai Ambhani or Varghese Kurian or Steve Jobs. More than any management therories they had crystal clear idea of what they want to achieve in life. If we could put it very simple. If you want to become the best table tennis player in your department you can start practice with best player in the company. But if you want to beat the best player in the company, the best option is go out and practice with best player bangalore. If you know what you want to acheive you can find your own to acheive that. No matter how you do it.
Unless you work on your dream,  dreams remain dreams

My Parrot.....

I bought a parrot.... I bought a cage for the parrot.... I did everything to make the parrot comfortable... but I put the parrot in the cage... I fed the parrot.... I thought her call my name... I am used to hear my name in the morning... My mornings have a meaning.... That took me to different level of person... The person I wanted... The person I dream of.... I still awake with my parrots call... I earned the ability to do things for parrot... I have decorated the cage with gold... The cage made of gold... But I noticed my parrot... Is she happy?  She is calling me still... Is she satisfied ? That made me think... I saw the pain in her face... I saw the dryness in her voice... I saw the weakness in her smile.... I have open the door of her golden cage.... I want to free you up... Parrot  is not able to walk through the doors... Parrot worried about her duty... Parrot still awake me... from her open cage... with no energy no enthusiasm.... ...

Captain Phillips Movie Review

Captain Philips is a film by director Paul Greengrass based on the hostage situation of Captain Richard Philips during the ship hijacking by Somalian pirates in 2009. Tom Hanks played the role of Captain Philips and as always my favourite actor has done justice to his role. The movie starts with Captain Philips’s journey from his home to ship departure land Salaala port. Captain Philips commands the ship Maersk Alabama, travelling from Oman – Kenya, through the danger zone, Somalia. It shows an ordinary start for an ordinary man. Then movie takes us to Somalia and shows how pirates are forced to attack ships. Pirates are played by Somalian actors. Pirate’s leader is Abduwali Muse, played by Barkhad Abdi. It shows the risk and athletic effort taken by pirates, onscreen in a documentary kind of realistic way. At the same time the helplessness of the ship crew to protect themselves without an armed security is also shown in a parallel manner. The Captain takes all pos...
