When I was a little boy, my mother took me to a wedding
reception along with few of relatives from our place. We had great time; all
kids and elders played and enjoyed that day. We all were exhausted at the end.
Next day being working day, all of us wanted to come back
home. We travelled in a public bus, other relatives put any option to call a
taxi when we return. That’s like 20 times of the cost of public transportation.
Even I was happy to come back in Taxi. My mother said, ‘Let’s
take the bus today. We are buying a car in same time, and then I will take you
in our car’.
All relatives frown at her. I didn’t know was it because of
her financial state at that point of time or they didn’t want to travel in bus.
We all board the bus and reach home in one and half hours.
But that day, Amma told me a big lesson. Live simple, spend
necessary but have a big dream. Her whole time thought me one more thing, walk the talk !! Thank God, for giving us her!!
