Captain Philips is a film by director Paul Greengrass based on the hostage situation of Captain Richard Philips during the ship hijacking by Somalian pirates in 2009. Tom Hanks played the role of Captain Philips and as always my favourite actor has done justice to his role. The movie starts with Captain Philips’s journey from his home to ship departure land Salaala port. Captain Philips commands the ship Maersk Alabama, travelling from Oman – Kenya, through the danger zone, Somalia. It shows an ordinary start for an ordinary man. Then movie takes us to Somalia and shows how pirates are forced to attack ships. Pirates are played by Somalian actors. Pirate’s leader is Abduwali Muse, played by Barkhad Abdi. It shows the risk and athletic effort taken by pirates, onscreen in a documentary kind of realistic way. Happiness!! How many of you are satisfied with your current life? How many if you have anxiety in each moment of your life? For the first question, some time I am satisfied, but sometimes not. What does it mean? I am not satisfied. For the second question, yes I have anxiety and it is ruining my each moment. I have failed to create an impression when I talk to people. This is the photo of a handsome father and a beautiful daughter on the way back from her school. When my wife posted this photo in FB, my mother in law got confused why her granddaughter was with one of the Malayalam film stars? She got confused my photo with one the young actors in Kerala. Then my father in law clarified it, she has sight problem. Then he was so happy to prove his point to make her use specs. On the first of my daughters school, I made her stand on the cycle and moved slowly to school. She was in mixed feeling. She love travel in cycle with breeze hitting her face. Yes, the introductory speech by sergeant at arms and setting expectation with at the audience that, please do not talk on sex, religion and politics. After attending various toastmasters meeting I know the benefit of this movement. I have extracted a lot from all toastmasters. I want to give back my learning’s others in a possible way. I decided to run a public speaking session in my office with few people show interest in public speaking. You may wonder now, how I will coach others when I am not good at communication. You are wrong, in toastmasters we won’t teach anyone. We give the platform to learn. I have arranged platform for few people on a Friday night for 30 mins. A child loves to play with fire… The beauty of the fire attracts child towards it…. Almost a day’s wait in front of the labour room, Nurse came out and brought and end to it and said, ‘IT’S A GIRL!’ Nurse handed over the little princess to her excited grandmother With wide open eyes, she stares at us with anger For disturbing her comfortable stay in the womb. Always her looks and her play Resembled a boy. She was always attracted to sports toys, She loves balls, bats Without showing the least bit of interest towards soft toys and dolls Her father enjoyed a happy period of saving On all the expensive Barbie dolls. But the fantasy for dress and jewellery Will not stop for women No matter how little they are! That proved she is a girl….. ...

I want --- Even before my little princess born, she expressed herself! She kicked my queen’s stomach, when she heard music! Since my little princess born, she expressed herself! She waved her hand in a tune, when she heard music! Since she learned to produce sound, she expressed herself! She uttered voice to express her happiness and joy! Since she turned a year, she expressed herself by limited words! She enjoyed herself by singing her favourite lullaby and rhymes! She eagerly listened words from her parents, to express her needs. She become talkative with her broken words, parents had tough time. Then breakthrough has come, She learned the most important two words – I want... Now, she connect her need with I want --- I want mama I want gems chocolate I want story time I want puzzle I want cartoon I want park ....List goes on with my chatter box!!!

I wanted to sing in front of audience very badly. I always believed that I have good sense of music but I didn’t have the ability to remember the lyrics. Hence I have started singing (tired) by looking at the lyrics. My good friends congratulated me when I sung for my hostel day. I was very proud. After marriage I sung to my wife, she also appreciated for my first song. Then my child is born, my 2 year old girl started singing now. I sing along with her. The children will not try to please anyone. I got proof now from this innocent girl. When I sing this girl cover her mouth with her little fist and give a sarcastic laugh.  It is very hard to take it but I am keep singing, I am hoping, this she will grow up and learn to please me and give me a sugar coated feedback J

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs – It is really a beautiful theory I have studied and a very rare theory i still revisit and try to remember. It has very significance in our day to life be it at work place or personal front. Awesome !! I dont know it is the same case with other theories. Anyway I used think only food when it comes to basic / physiological needs. As a person who born to eat and love food my concern is only food. Mostly when food is in the conversation, I generally over look others things around. Sorry same thing happened. From last one month, I am going through different paradigm. Coalition government is the term I am hearing this from quite few years in India. From last decade, none of the political party is winning election with minimum majority to rule government. It forces the political party to team up with other parties to produce the minimal required majority to come in power. It creates issues for the party to follow their own set principles. They have to adjust to suit every coalition member’s opinion. First of all each party members in same party has their own principles and opinion. So this coalition will add more flow of opinion. In coalition government you have to ensure the common decisions are made else critical group to withdraw their support and put the ruling government away from power. If the critical supporter is clever, they will take the ruling party for a ride. Yesterday was the state election in Karnataka. It was a peaceful one when went out. I have seen some fights and attacks reported in tv news. Currently BJP is ruling in the state, in todays news paper I had seen the exit poll results published. Congress is leading with good margin in most of the exit polls. I am not a person with good or basic knowledge about the current affairs or politics. But one thing is clear to me that this time Congress or other parties have good chance to win the state election. You may be thinking opposition party has done good or they influence government bring good things. No, nothing that sort happened. People of the state are fed up of ruling by the current government. They want a change in the rulers. They know that whoever comes they are not going to get anything good or decent. They have to get rule by someone. It has changed the situation in a greater way these days. People are getting the option to choose from whom they need to get cheated. ...

I have watched an interview in a Malayalam TV news channel. The interviewer is not very popular I guess. He has done enough research on the person sitting in front of him. The person giving interview is leader of an organisation supports a particular religion. That leader was trying to say that it is not a religious organisation but that organisation membership is restricted to only one religion. He is saying they are trying do a lot of things for the society. The interviewer pointed out some of the attacks and fights created by the members of this organisation. He had an excuse to say, that was individuals not organisation. The leader was straggle to questions with valid answer but he didn’t agree to any particular point. He tried his level best to control his emotions and tried give some answers even though it was not convincing to interviewer or viewer. I appreciate his ability to stay calm. One hoppy I have developed in last few month is lessoning and try to learn lyrics of some regional songs. This I have started to improve me flow of language. I have unnecessary pause when talk. It was very funny in the inital stages. I couldn’t follow the lyrics; I have taken the lyrics from internet and try to sing along with song. It was really nice to understand the lyrics and listen to songs. What a meaning they writer and singer trying to convey. I have missed so many songs by just lessoning the tune. The people who ever made these songs are incredibly creative and genius. Actually whole this crazy started when we have carol singing couple of years back. I always had great friends to help me with my career or academics. One of my mentors advised me to join Toastmasters. This now turned out to be the best advice he has given plus one advice I have implemented.   I have contacted Thomson Reuters Toastmasters official through one of my colleague from my department Venugopal. Murali, president that time invited me as guest for usual meeting on Fridays. When I have attended meeting, I felt very friendly place, I got opportunity to talk and I have met some brilliant speakers too. All these motivated to continue with Toastmaster. I have received manual to practise my communication and leadership skills from Toastmasters. It looked some things really great and a herculean task. Communication manual has 10 different projects to a public speaker include speeches from self introduce to inspiration talk with in front a group of audience. We have a lot of things in our plate to do on daily basis. My wife started working. To adjust that I have changed my shift to ensure baby sitting in the morning. Wife work between 9 am to 6 pm. I will take care of our baby till 2pm. 2 pm I drop my kid to day care and my work starts at 4 pm and ends at 1am. I will have 6 hours to sleep if no other interruptions before my wife leave to office at 8 am. Even my wife has busy schedule. She woke up at 6am to prepare food, take baby bath and feed breakfast before her leave. We have family time only during weekends. My wife thought resigning before she complete her first month. But I want to see we both are working together for this and build a career for both of us and be ourselves happy. The work is only for 5 days a week but last Saturday she had work as she had company sport day during a working day. I had to take care of my little princess one more day.
