What is the best way to manage Time?
You can't, instead manage yourself. Time in a day is fixed, 24 Hours for all. This is my discovery !
Ladies and Gentleman, Nature is a great teacher. He is so discipled, morning Sun rise in the east, evening set in the west. Same with seasons too Monsoon, Winter, Summer comes and goes as well planned. Every year passes as predefined and scheduled.
Can we learn anything from this behaviour of nature, we can manage ourself to cop up with time.
In this time of social media, we have a lot of distractions. We have our addictions and lack of concentraction to one goal always move us away from a disciplined life.
I had a time in Mumbai, I was putting on weight, gone out of shape and find lossing my enthusiam to work. Luckily, I have decided to run a 10K marathon and registered for a run in 2 months. in one year time, wanted to run half marathon too. I have written clearly in my dairy. the timeliness and what are the practise plans. Decided 10K steps walking each day for next 30 days, 5KM run and 5 KM walk from 30 days to my 10 K run day. Morning 6 am, decided to wake up for the walk. to measure this I have an App to count to step in my mobile. Weekly, I used to monitor, the day I have walked more and the progress. I have kept this excerise regime as my priority and done it. On 10 K run day, I have ran and that year itself, I have ran 7 runs, 4 10K & 3 21K Runs.
All happened, because I have kept running as my priority, I was sure that, if I run half marathon, my shape and health will retained. That was year, I have got the best cholostrol report. How could I acheive this, because I have set a goal, written goal - a SMART Goal. Specific, Meaurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time bound.
I will be running 10 K running in 2 months from now, was Specific. I could measure, my 10K steps walk each day in my mobile App; Slow progression, 10 K walk in 30 days, 5K run and 5K run for the next 30 days was attainable, It was a relevent goal to acheive a good health. I have marked the dates clearly.
It was the same, We had to publish the newletter for my club. When I have took the role of VP- Publich Relations. I had the energy to go and promote our club activities in social media and decided to publish news letter, When I have requested our members to write articles for the news letter, We got good number of articles. But somewhere I lost the tract of working on newsletter. I had hope on some help in designing from my office. but this person left the organization. I left clueless, How could I complete the newsletter. that thinking, prolonged and prolonged, I understood, what is it called procrastination now.
It took 6 months plus, my President DTM Jane, Came to me and said, May 5th is the last day of newsletter submission. that was on April 26. I had hardly 9 days time to complete the task. I didnt know, how to design, I havent edited the article, I didnt know the criterias of TMI newsletter guidelines.
I have sat down and watched couple of youtube tutorials and understood designing, newsletter is a real easy task. Formed the team, distributed tasks of collecting photos from members to one person. editing work to other 2 members. My team members have done super work. All the work started on April 27th and completed final work on April 30th and uploaded newsletter on May 1 at the district portal.
If conclude, my learninf of managing Time from our newsletter task is -
1. Fix the goal
2. Select the team
3. Break down the task and assign
4. Collate the compeled tasks within time
5. Complete the newsletter and submit
When you plan, it is always good to writing down with timeliness and stick to the timeline. This is my learning to daily life as well.
I plan my day, in my dairy. With activities. once these activitym complete I tick it. Once good tool, you may use to manage time is - Google tool. you can list down you tasks for the day and able to track.
